The Opportunity.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a talented and experienced Technical Lead Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our team and take our product to the next level. The Engineer will be responsible for managing an engineering squad for day to day development work. Your primary focus will be the design and development of all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
Your day to day.
Utilize your extensive Ruby on Rails knowledge to design, develop, test, and deploy web applications
Accountable for grooming stories with product managers and provide technical feasibility and suggestion to simplify and make the workflow efficient
Prepare high level technical design, review with design council, break the technical design into small achievable technical tasks and assign to developers
Oversee code reviews and ensure compliance with best practices and coding standards
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in Ruby on Rails and React.js
Responsible for keeping your squad’s technical documentation up-to-date
Who you are.
A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails development including high and low level design
Desire to work at a start-up pace with a high degree of ownership.
Have managed a team of 3-4 engineers and accountable for technical design and implementation of end-end solution for the squad
Experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD) with RSpec
Experience with containers/Docker, and with cloud infrastructure like AWS
Hands-on experience in REST API implementation and versioning APIs. Strong knowledge of GitOps; Ability to use version control systems; Bitbucket preferred
Strong Experience with Kafka. Good to have experience on Elasticsearch
Experience building micro-services and consuming data from 3rd party APIs and building large-scale distributed platforms
Have used design patterns, SOLID, KISS, YAGNI principles, 12 factor app etc.
Excellent Communication skills and experience collaborating in a multi-national, distributed, and cross-functional team environment
Good to have full stack development experience with react JS
